Theatrical LightingAccessoriesTheatrical Accessories are items that attach to a particular lighting instrument in order to shape or diffuse the light such as barn doors, gobo/pattern-holders, snoots, top hats, gel frames, and irises. We have all of these accessories for purchase and for rent.
Barndoors
Barndoors are extra leaves that fit on to the front of a fixture for added control of the light beam. By bending the leaves into the path of the light beam, the light may be cropped off of walls, scenery, and other unwanted areas.
Color Extenders
Color Extenders save both time and aggravation by preventing gel burnout. Gel materials are placed in the slot at front of unit-forward of the fixture’s focal plane.
Concentric Ring
The concentric ring offers control of stray beams and spill. It’s function is comparable to a 6 inch Top Hat.
Donuts
Donuts sharpen the definition of projected gobos and images by blocking unwanted light.
Drop-in Iris
The drop-in iris offers a precise round shape and smooth control of beam size. It fits easily into most standard theatrical ellipsoidals. Each ellipsoidal requires a specific iris to match its iris position.
Gel Frames
Conveniently holds a piece of gel in the color frame channel in the front of the fixture. Black gel frames are typically powder-coated to provide durability.
Gobo/Pattern Holders
Gobo Holders (also called Pattern, Cookie, or Sandwich Holders) allow metal or glass patterns, called gobos, to be conveniently placed and held in the appropriate slot of a light fixture. Gobos allow words, patterns, and textures to be projected.
Top Hats
Top hats are used in the gel frame holder of a fixture to prevent spill or reflection of light. Apollo's tapered top hats stack and transport in 1/10 the space of conventional top hats. |
