Gobos, also known as patterns, com either in metal or glass. They enhance design by creating shadowed images or textured light on walls, floors, backdrops and other scenic elements. They can even be used in place of scenery in some cases. The appearance of the image can be affected and/or enhanced through the use of color filters and the angle and focus of the light being used, allowing for additional design flexibility. A custom gobo is any pattern in which the original artwork of the desired image is designed and submitted by the customer. Glass Gobos are ideal for images requiring specific color matches or any images with shades of color. Multi-color glass gobos provide a clear crisp image.

Dichroics

Dichroics are ideal for permanent installations in both interior and exterior architectural applications, including accent lighting and color temperature alterations. Dichroic filters project dramatic lighting effects in rich saturated colors. Designed to fit the growing trend in color lighting, dichroics are the best solution for achieving high transmission and reflection, consistent color uniformity and precision color definition. With minimum heat absorption, dichroic filters are designed not to crack or distort from exposure to high power light sources. Performance does not deteriorate with use.

Crushed dichroics are multi-color texture patterns made from small chips of dichroic colored glass that add background color and breakups to any scene. Crushed dichroics project bits of white light mixed within the colors. Cut dichroics project a thin line of white light between the colors. A crushed dichroic is an inexpensive way to use color without having the expense of purchasing a color gobo. These can be paired up with a standard pattern to achieve a dramatic background effect (such as the church window).

Gels

Production companies and photographic markets use these plastic filters to add color to stage scenery and to provide color correction for theatre, film, and television. Gel creates a mood by changing the color or shade of light. There are two widely accepted gel-manufacturing processes: double-coated and deep dyed. We carry both types, manufactured by Rosco, Apollo Design Technologies, LEE Filters, and GAM.
