Apple Box
An Apple Box is a wooden box used for sitting, standing, prop elevation, and height adjustments. Our apple boxes come in four sizes:
Apple boxes are made of wood that is nailed or glued together, with a stiffener or center support that enables the boxes to withstand a heavy load.
Baby (Nail-On) Plates
Baby plates are used for holding down small fixtures or grip heads. They can be nailed to the top of set walls or to practically any surface into which a nail can be driven. The 5/8in. pin has a recessed area at the end where the lamps locking knuckle rides, allowing the lamp to rotate when the light is being panned without falling off. Our baby plates are available in three sizes: 3, 6, and 9 inch.
Duckbill
The duckbill is a vise grip with two large plates attached to the grippers. The plates provide a larger surface area that allows it to bite tightly without damaging or breaking material. They are usually used for holding lightweight bounce boards on a grip stand.
Scaffold Clamp to Junior Pin
The pin on this clamp will fit into any junior receiver. The clamp will hold a pipe or tube with a diameter of 1-3/4 to 3-1/4in.
C-Clamp Branch Holder
The C-clamp branch holder has a 4-in to 6ft iron plate welded at a 90 degree angle to one face of the C-clamp. This type of C-clamp has a small 2-in angled plate welded to its opposite face, which makes it more versatile and gives it a better biting action on the tree branch. The bottom of the C-clamp has a spade welded onto it, which allows the clamp to fit into a high roller.
Cable Crossovers (Yellow Jackets)
A crossover provides protection for cables. Each crossover contains four or five cable channels which are covered by a heavy duty polyurethane lid. These covers make it safe for cars to drive over the cables and also for people to walk over them without tangling or damaging the cables or tripping people.
C-Clamps
C-clamps are used when an extremely secure quick mount is demanded. C-clamps for motion pictures come fitted with two 5/8in pins or 2-1/8 junior receiver mounted vertically and horizontally. They come in sizes ranging from 6in to 12in. They either have a pipe face or a flat face. The pipe face has a small 1-2in piece of channel iron welded to the flat face at a 90-degree angle, which gives the clamp a better clamping action when it is attached to a pole or pipe.
Cardellini Clamp
The Cardellini Clamp was designed for speed, strength and versatility. It provides strong solid gripping of round, square, or rectangular tubing; 1x4 and 2x4 lumber; plywood sheets, foam core, show card, and many other common and irregular shapes. The standard clamps will grab tubing with diameters from 5/8" (like a C-Stand arm) to 2" (like insert car rail tubing or speedrail). The padded jaws allow for firm but gentle holding of mirrors, glass, or fragile props. The come is several different designs:
Chain Vise Grips
The chain vise grip can be clamped around any pipe, pole, or beam with a diameter of 6in or less. The back of the chain vise has a 5/8in pin welded onto it. The tightening knob also has a 5/8-in pin welded onto it. If need be, several chain vise grips can be "locked" together.
Cribbing and Wedges
Cribbings are short boards used to elevate, level, or block a wheel or chair or other pieces of equipment.
Cup Blocks
Cup blocks are made of wood and designed to be placed under wheeled objects, such as light stands or parallels, to prevent them from rolling. The average size is 5-1/2in square and 1-1/2in thick, with a cupped center(about half an inch deep).
Scissor Clips
Scissor clips are designed to scissor open and close over the conventional drop ceiling frames. They are fitted with a 5/8in pin, cable hook, or just a wing-nut.
Flexarms
Flexarms are all referred to as articulating arms. They are designed to hold dots, fingers, and flex scrims. The joints of flexarms use a thumb-screw locks in order to support more weight. The flexarm has a spring clamp at one end and a 1/4in diameter locking receiver at the other.
Furniture Clamp
Our furniture clamps are available in lengths of 24in and 36in. They are adjusted by moving a spring release over a serrated bar, which locks into any notch on the bar. The furniture clamp usually works with a baby pin attachment on it.
Scaffold Clamp to Baby Pin
These clamps are designed to provide maximum hold. It fits pipes 1-1/4 to 2-1/2in. in diameter.
Gaffer Grip (Gator Grips)
These are normally used for quick-mounting small fixtures to virtually any surface, such as a door, pipe, furniture, or light stand. The gaffer grip comes with two 5/8in pins; one pin is on the handle and one is on the jaws. Adjustable jaw openings provide normal expanded mounting capabilities.
Grip Clips
Grip clips are large reusable metal spring clamps. We have spring clamps and pony clamps, which come in sizes #1, #2, and #3. These numbers indicate the maximum expansion (in inches) of the mouth.
Mafer Clamp
A mafer clamp is similar to a cardellini clamp and has a baby pin on it. The clamp has rubber grips that will hold to flat and round surfaces.
Offset Arm
An offset arm offsets the light. For example, when you need to hide the stand outside the room and have only the light itself inside the room. A Baby Offset has a receptacle that will fit on a stand that is 5/8in. A Junior Offset is the same, but with a 1-1/8in receptacle at one end and a 1-1/8in pin on the other.
Pipe Clamp with Baby Pin and Jr. Receiver
Pipe clamps are designed to allow fixtures to hang on a pipe without danger of slipping off while the clamp is loose. They will hang from either theatrical or heavy steel pipes. It terminates in a 5/8in pin.
Putty Knife
The putty knife is designed to place a 5/8in pin where it is nearly impossible to put any other brackets. It is wedged into an area, such as a door frame or window sill.
Side Arms
Side arms, which are adjustable in length, are designed to clamp onto a pipe. They provide a mounting platform for lighting and grip equipment. Common applications include attaching them to stands for low-angle placement or hanging arm from overhead pipe grids. The baby side arm terminates in a double ended 5/8in. pin and the junior side has a 1-1/8in. receiver. Theatrical side arms have a sliding tee, which replaces the pipe clamp on the instruments yoke.
Taco Cart
The taco cart is a heavy duty wheeled cart with shelves and compartments that hold bounce boards, rolls of gel, small to medium lights, and most grip equipment. Click here to see this pricelist section
