HMIs deliver excellent daylight quality and are useful in any situation where daylight color balance is required. HMI PARSThe newest to the PAR family is the HMI PAR, which is available in 4K, 2.5K, 1.2K, 700, 575, 400, and 200 Watts. These are popular as bounce units, to create shafts, and for raw power. HMI PARs are different from fresnels in that they have changeable lenses. The HMI PARS use single-ended HMI lamp, and can be focused through a set of lenses -spot, medium, wide, and very wide. Very light and easy to handle, the HMI PARS are ideal for interior and exterior lighting applications. HMI FRESNELSA HMI FRESNEL produces a round flat even field. This is particularly convenient for use on location to fill shadows in exteriors and to light within day-lit interiors because its color temperature blends well with daylight. HMI fresnels have a adjustable setting for spot to flood but do not come with interchangeable lenses. HMI SOFTLIGHTThe HMI SOFTLIGHT is a combination of the traditional “soft” bounce light and the punch and color temperature of an HMI lamp. HMI SOFTLIGHTS provide reduce shadows when used in tight spaces. SUNGUN / Interview LightSungun is a generic term for a portable, battery-powered HMI light. There are two basic types, tungsten and HMI. Tungsten are usually 12-volt or 30-volt and powered from battery belts. HMI sunguns are daylight-balanced and are more efficient than tungsten units and their batteries run considerably longer before running out. The battery will last 25 minutes with a HMI SUNGUN. This is a handy light for locations where no power is available. Like most sunguns, this lamp is most popular for use in news reporting, documentary work, etc. where carrying capacity, crew, and power are typically limited.
